Jack and The Dark (Jam Version)

*This game only works on a Windows browser* (I think... I tested it on a mac and it beach-balled, on Safari and Chrome.)

Jack in the Dark is a 2D psychological horror game made for LOWREZJAM23.

Story:

The game follows the main character, Jack, while he tries to piece together his past and escape the Dark House. He is constantly chased by a malevolent entity called, The Dark, that seeks to reset his memories and prevent Jack from reaching the truth -- whatever that may be. Escape the Dark and find your way out of the Dark House, discover the truth and help free Jack.

Theme:

Hidden In Plain Sight - Jack is able to hide in plain sight of The Dark. Run fast and avoid The Dark or happily crawl your way through the entire ordeal - like a happy baby! Several of the keys are for the various rooms are hidden, in plain sight, around the level.

Controls:

Move: WASD

Run: Left Shift

Crawl: Left Click

Camera: Right Click

I worked on this game tirelessly for #lowrezjam23 hosted right here on itch. It was 15 days of self-inflicted hell and I decided to step outside my comfort zone and make a  game using the Godot game engine. I would have given up after the first line of code if it wasn't for Godot's awesome community.
